These photos were taken throughout the year 2006,
along the Kinglsand Road, London, with a friend of mine Roy, who had lived in the area all his life. We would spend hours each day walking up and
down the road, me shooting places and people, whilst Roy would tell me stories of his youth. We both felt that the area should be documented before the first Starbucks opened and Derek on the corner gets exchanged for Derek Esq. Since finnishing the project many of the places
photographed have been pulled down, and their inhabitants
moved aside for a newer look Kingsland Road.

The resulting images ended up as a solo show, and a small book called, ‘The King Is Dead, Long Live The King’.
